Born in Seville in 1980, she steps into the world of design through her studies in Fashion in Llotja (Barcelona).At age 20 she wins the Best Collection Award at the Mustang Catwalk held during the FIB “Benicassim International Music Festival 2000”. During her stay in Barcelona she becomes part of the production team of Circuit Catwalk, an event where fashion, music and art merge.
In 2002, she presents her Spring/Summer 2003 collection in an avant-garde format, combining a short film with the fashion show, an exhibition of photography and electronic music.
In the year 2003, she opens a fashion agency and a showroom in her hometown Seville, that eventually becomes the venue for her Spring/Summer 2005 and Fall/Winter 2006 collection presentation.
2006 is the decisive year for her firm with the opening in Madrid of her first boutique in Calle Almirante 22, a trendy area in the center of town. Projects collaborating with SURGENIA (Andalusian Technological Centre of Design) lead to the creation of an exclusive jewelry piece currently showcased at the “Enjoya” exhibition.
Furthermore, 2007 is the time chosen for the International expansion of the trademark with points of sale in Greece, Portugal, Germany, Ireland, Italy, USA and Canada.
Awarded in 2009 with the Evolucion’09 Award in Fashion Design granted by the magazine El Duende and PlayStation. She is also a member of the Fashion Design“Injuve” Awards jury. 2010 marks the year of her debut in the Madrid Cibeles Fashion Week with the F/W 2010-11 Attitude Collection The S/S 2011 collection is presented in Madrid in a unique setting with a fashion show included in the Cibeles Off.
2011 started by the presentation of the F/W Collection 2011-12 simultaneously at International SIMM Madrid Fair, PURE LONDON and NY COTERIE. During New York Fashion Week she also holds a private event at the King of Greene Street in Soho. Anjara Garcia currently lives between Shanghai, Madrid and NY where she designs and develops her brand’s universe.
Her entrepreneurial facet and business sense enable her to enjoy, show and share her world not only through her collections but also with her business strategies, image and production details... An intensive life that she adores and enjoys every second with friends around the world.
